Boho Chair upcycle
I picked up this old directors chair from an op shop on the weekend. It was well made from Australian hardwood timber and in good condition except for the faded fabric and dated design.
The fabric was taken off the frame then a quick sand and oil. I started to think about the design, it was a bit of trial and error! It actually took most of sunday weaving....unravelling.....knotting......unravelling!! I had found a pattern for a macrame directors chair in one of my vintage craft books but it was very busy and not too practical. The hardest part was to not over think it and keep it simple. I finally came up with this design, using some simple weaving and macrame techniques.
We now have this fab boho chair for the pool deck. Its super comfy and looks so much better now!
Thanks for visiting. If you are on the sunshine coast, I have a beginners macrame and beginners weaving workshop coming up in the next month. Check out the 'workshops' tab for more info.
